Scott Campbell (Co-owner/Head instructor)

Scott Campbell, being native to Fort McMurray, he knows how far this community has come and aims to bring it even further. Being inspired after his first experience watching MMA, he decided to join Martial Arts and his first experience with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was a humbling one. Growing up playing Minor Hockey in the community and Football with the Fort McMurray Trappers, he decided to test himself in the dojo in 2009. Where he was swiftly taught a humbling experience by a man half his size. He knew right then and there, that he had to learn the secret of Jiu-Jitsu. Fast forward 10 years later, after tirelessly training day in and day out, winning 1st place and Absolute championship belts in numerous provincial grappling Competitions, working with dozens of MMA fighters from across the country, Scott Campbell earned his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Gracie Humaita) Black Belt under Professor Rodrigo Munduruca and was the first in Fort McMurray earn a blackbelt in Jiu Jitsu. He looks forward to continue his jiu jitsu path coaching the future of this amazing community

Christine Unruh (youth jiu jitsu instructor)

‘Home is where the heart is’ Having lived in Fort McMurray as a teen, Christine moved back in 2012 to be closer to her family. She began her jiu-jitsu journey in 2013 & quickly came to realize that she had found the sport to be extremely character building. From empathy to confidence, determination to mindfulness, jiu-jitsu has challenged her as a person & continues to shape her into an athlete she never thought herself capable. Christine has tested herself in competition, either winning or learning. Earning 5 medals as a white belt & 6 as a blue belt, 2 of which gold (Submission Ace & Alberta Provincials 2016). As a registered massage therapist & now a martial artist, growing & constantly learning is apart of both practices. This principle enabled her to push herself even further picking up long distance racing, and finding herself a 1st & 2nd placement in 2014. First competing at almost 30 years of age, Christine's proving it doesn't matter what age you start, just begin.

Kyle Tateyama (Adult kickboxing instructor)

Kyle Tateyama took his first Jiujitsu class in Toronto, Ontario with the initial goal to get active and stay healthy. After being surrounded by positive mindsets and noticing the mental clarity difference immediately, Kyle was hooked. Kyle credits Jiujitsu for starting his path transferring into Muay Thai, Boxing and then Mixed Martial Arts. Being extremely blessed with coaches that have changed the direction of his life many times over, Kyle hopes to do the same for others. Keeping the focus of training the healthiest way possible, while also being challenging and keeping the intensity high.
